Laptop Accessories
Even after purchasing the best laptop computer you can find you are going to want some laptop accessories. Some you will want just because they will help you do some things easier, others you will choose because they - well, let’s face it - they’re cool and you want to impress your friends. The Basics The first thing most people figure out is whether or not they need an accessory for the notebook - and the first of the laptop accessories to come up is the mouse. On almost all PC notebooks there is a touchpad mouse - you touch the pad and the cursor moves around. Many people don’t like this - on some cheap notebooks it is not sensitive enough, on others it is too sensitive. First thing they do - get a mouse to plug into the USB port. This can cost you anywhere from $17 to $100, with the average mouse costing around $35. Sound If you buy a cheap used laptop you may find that the previous owner has already worn the speakers down a bit. Not necessarily true - laptop speakers on average aren’t that good. This means that the next accessory you will want will be speakers or headphones. You can get fairly cheap speakers for around $30, or you can aim for the top of the line stuff at $300. The more you listen to music and play games the more you will want to spend on speakers.
Buying Used Laptop Computers If you are considering buying a used laptop, there are some things to consider, a list of pros and cons if you will. The first thing to look at when buying a cheap notebook is the price - instead of spending over a thousand dollars you’ll be spending a couple hundred. Used laptop computers are upgradeable as well, so it’s not like you’re stuck with what you have. Cons The major con in buying a cheap used notebook is that there may be something wrong with it, and you probably won’t get a warranty - depending on where you buy it from. Always make sure to test it first, and push for a warranty if you can, and you should be fine.
