There are basically four types of laptops: the portable (also: the ultra portable and the sub-notebook), notebooks, standard laptops, and big laptops. Laptop types, then, are based on size and weight than anything else, and these two factors are very important when deciding to choose the right laptop type, especially since the wrong laptop type can definitely be a “back-breaker.”

Despite its small screen, this is one of the most popular laptop types due to its convenient arrangement in hardware and software, and because it weighs 4-to-6 lbs.

The most popular of the laptop types, of course, is the standard laptop. The RAM is suffient to hold everything conceivably necessary, which explains why these laptop types are the best buy for their performance. These are wholesale laptops or discount laptops and so are the best laptop type, weighing anywhere from 6-to-8 lbs—a bit hefty, but worth it when considering the features and the capabilities that are available.

The largest and by far most unpopular of the laptop types is that which ironically has the greatest amount of features and hardware capabilities. The “big” laptop has a big keyboard, a big screen (17 inches), and is loaded with extra programs, causing this laptop to weight the most at a heaving 8-to-10 pounds. This is why it is unpopular, especially for travelling. The “big” laptop type is without a doubt more expensive than the others, and understandably so—its size and extremity of content make this one the “back-breaker.”

The cheapest laptops are usually those on clearance. Different types of laptops can be found at lower prices, but they will not be new. The refurbished laptops and used notebooks are among the cheapest laptop types available, but it is possible to get a good deal that will be worth the few dollars spent. All these laptop types have their respective advantages and disadvantages, but it all depends on the buyer’s particular wants and needs, so no laptop would really be a bad.
