When shopping for laptops, you need to consider a few things. First of all, who is it for? If you’re buying a laptop for a business-person who needs lots of room to create graphics, spreadsheets, charts, dividend/ratio information (etc) then you want to be sure you’ve got a machine with a lot of memory and the correct programs and operating system. If you’re getting a machine for an artist, you maybe would consider the same RAM but much different programs or OS.
Gamers are no different. Gamers are defined as people who play games; whether or not that is professionally, shouldn’t really matter. If you’re trying to make a statement to them about their interests (i.e. – there’s no future in games) then maybe you could install some of those business programs, but all-in-all, people are who they are. So use the following guidelines when shopping for gamin laptops and you should be alright. There are few things which matter more to gamers than graphics, speed, and accessibility. Your games need to run, they need to run uninterrupted, and you need the most rich, deep, interesting graphics you can find. Just as you wouldn’t buy a Vegan a Foreman Grill or you wouldn’t buy a writer a CPU equipped only with Works; so it goes that you need to consider who this machine is for and not who you’d like the recipient to be. If he/she likes to spend their free time building cities and knocking them down in SimEarth or conquering worlds in WarCraft you should be respectful of what they’ll find for this machine in terms of use.

The post offices is your friend and gaming laptops are a lot more likely to be treated better in-house rather than if just left in your lobby or on your doorstep. Gaming and internet laptops are hot!
